There's something gorgeously sensible
about Leelee Sobieski. She's sexy in the way your head
girl was when you got a glimpse of the strap of her
trainer bra under her school blouse. And at just 16
years old, she's been managing a stellar career for
quite some time now. She stole the show as Channe in
A Soldier's Daughter Never Cries (Merchant Ivory big
girl's blouserie) and snogged Elijah Wood in Deep Impact
(they were both sucking mints at the time). She's a
magnificently-proud math nerd in Never Been Kissed (cue
unfettered girly gush in praise of co-star Drew Barrymore:
"She's an angel, I'm in love with her") and in Eyes
Wide Shut, she plays the daughter of the creepy fancy
dress shop man, and gets to be perved over by all and
sundry (including Tom Cruise). The only really freaky
thing about Leelee is her penchant for collecting hair
from her co-workers. She's the proud owner of a Kubrick
curl ("an elegantly charming man, who was always touching
his beard"). But sadly Tom Cruise would not oblige:
"I think he got scared about cloning." Leelee Sobieski:
about to take Hollywood by the short and curlies.
