In her scrapbook is an envelope with a lock of Stanley Kubrick's hair. Sobieski, 16, asked him for it when she was acting in his new film, "Eyes Wide Shut."

"He looked at me weird and walked away. I thought, 'Oh, God, I've ruined my relationship with Stanley Kubrick!' " But he obliged. A New Yorker, Sobieski spends summers in her father's native France. Her mom writes; her dad paints. Last year she starred in "A Soldier's Daughter Never Cries." She'll get even more notice when "Eyes Wide Shut" opens in July.
